Dreamworks Animation is Disney’s biggest rival in the animation community. So, it’s no surprise that people were looking to buy it. So, The Wall Street Journal reported that Comcast offered 3.8 Billion dollars which was a solid offer, as Dreamworks agreed.
The agreement should be finalized by the end of the year, and the contracts with other studios, like Paramount, and Warner Bros. are going to come to an end and not be renewed.
Dreamworks Animation was founded in 1994 by Steven Spielberg, Jeffery Katzenberg, and David Geffen. Jeff is still the head of the studio but is going to be stepping down. he will however remain a consultant for the production company.
